The concert "Bridges of beauty" with Duo Córdoba, offers a musical tour through different eras and
different parts of the world.
Duo Córdoba allows the music they play to pass through the gates of time, creating an artistic bridge
over infinity, projecting the past into the future, without borders.
In a way, the sound canvas is painted with tones from the Baroque, Viennese classicism, Argentine
tango and Spanish flamenco-inspired music.
Through each of their performances, Duo Córdoba strives to find the poetry in music where beauty,
harmony and sensitivity are told in the prose of guitar and piano / organ, played in the form of duets
and with great variety in expression.
Duo Córdoba consists of Vera Folstad, piano / organ, and Trond Folstad, guitar
Vera studied piano at the Academy of Art and Dance in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, and organ / church music at
the Norwegian Academy of Music. She has participated in a number of concerts both as solo pianist
and organist, and in a chamber music context.
Trond studied classical guitar at Østlandet's music concert academy. He then specialized in flamenco
guitar, with a number of stays in Spain. In recent years, he has been a leading figure in the flamenco
group Candela.
The repertoire consists of classical music, i.a. Baroque, Spanish, Brazilian, Norwegian, Bulgarian,
some Flamenco and Tango music, as well as some film music.
We usually alternate between duets with piano and guitar, organ and guitar, and solo pieces, which
give a great variety in expression.
The repertoire is well suited both for church rooms and other concert stages.
The duo has played concerts and participated in festivals in Norway, Bulgaria and Spain. We
participated in the festival The Universe of Sound, in Moscow, with our own concert at the Tchaikovsky
Conservatory, 28 June 2017, and have played 3 concerts at the sailors' churches in Spain in April /
October 2018.
